OCTOBER 21st, 2021 – The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) announced Tim Simmons as its Director, Hockey Operations effective immediately.
Simmons comes to the GOJHL from the London Nationals as their Director of Hockey Operations and General Manager. He began as the Assistant General Manager in 2010 and was a part of six Western Conference Championships, including four consecutive from 2016 to 2019, while capturing the Sutherland Cup in 2013. Tim is a Member of the PGA of Canada and also serves as an Apprentice Professional at the London Hunt and Country Club.
“Having been in the GOJHL for over a decade, Tim has first-hand knowledge that will be a tremendous asset to continuously improve the core aspect of our organization,” states GOJHL Commissioner Brent Garbutt. “Tim had great success with the Nationals and being able to bring that team and member organization aspect to the League Office will be very valuable in assisting our 25-member clubs.”
He will oversee all hockey operations matters of the league including player registration, movement and development, discipline, scheduling and events while enforcing and upholding all GOJHL By-Laws, Regulations and Policies.
“I have been working in Junior hockey since 1996 so I’m excited for the next step in my hockey career with the GOJHL,” says Simmons. “The GOJHL has a rich history, along with great community support throughout the three Conferences. For the past 11 years, my position has been with one team, but now I look forward to working for all 25 teams and helping make the GOJHL be the best it can be.”
