Release | GOJHL Commissioner Role

The Commissioner shall serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the League and shall be charged with protecting the integrity of the GOJHL and preserving public confidence in the League.

The Commissioner shall have the responsibility for the general supervision and direction of all business and affairs of the League.

The ideal candidate should possess negotiation skills, be goal driven, be a strong communicator (both written and verbal) and able to travel.

The Commissioner (when present) shall preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors and shall discharge all duties imposed upon him by the Constitution and By-Laws, and by the Board of Directors.

The Commissioner will report directly to the GOJHL Board of Directors, and is accountable to the member teams to manage their best interests.

Compensation    

$75,000-$100,000 commensurate with experience

The Commissioner will report directly to the Board of Directors-GOJHL

About the GOJHL Established in the 2007-2008 season, the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) strives to be the best junior hockey experience in Ontario.  Consisting of 26 teams in three conferences, the league is known as one of the top development leagues in North America.  GOJHL teams compete yearly for the Sutherland Cup Trophy.  The GOJHL and OHA have been responsible for developing many players to top levels of hockey including current NHL players Logan Couture, Brandon Montour, Mark Scheifele, Mackenzie Blackwood, TJ Brodie and Tanner Pearson.
